Advisor Service Associate Role

The Advisor Service Associate is expected to know about the financial industry, financial advisors, financial planning, and investing. They are to specifically know about values-based investing, including the history of the space, varying approaches, and stakeholder theory. They are to leverage their expertise as a platform for developing new business opportunities for the Eventide sales team.

Working alongside Regional Directors and the rest of the sales team, the Advisor Service Associate will help to plan travel, book individual and group meetings, create follow up strategies, and help to walk advisors through the advisor alignment process.

The ASA will work directly with Salesforce, Hubspot, and Asana. Their work will include researching advisors (both clients and prospects), entering data about meetings, phone calls, emails, and other sales team interactions with financial advisors. They will help to make Salesforce and Hubspot more accurate by updating contact information, correctly linking teams together, and helping to more precisely track sales data to producers.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment within the asset management industry. Travel is not required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ability to understand the Eventide story and philosophy, the Business 360 process, and current macroeconomic view.
  • Gain a deep understanding of the responsible and sustainable investing landscape, including and especially Christian faith-based approaches and nuances.
  • Develop and maintain deep expertise of the SRI/ESG/BRI landscape. Be able to share that expertise as a platform for Eventide’s philosophy and investments.
  • Engage in and execute strategic planning and business development plan for their territory/territories.
  • Learn to understand both complimentary BRI offerings as well as competitor non-BRI investments (including ETFs, mutual funds, SMAs, ect).
  • Ability to schedule advisor meetings, meals, branch meetings and client seminars.
  • Comfort in communicating, especially over the phone and via video-conferencing both one on one and in groups.
  • Gain understanding of Modern Portfolio Theory and statistics as applied to finance and investing.
  • Learn how to run, understand and present Zephyr, Morningstar and other analytical reports.
  • Study for and pass Series 7 & 63

Performance Expectations

  • Invest time to serve our current clients well, sharing Eventide’s approach of “investing that makes the world rejoice.”
  • Seek to interact positively with 10 or more advisors per day, either through email, phone calls, video conferencing, or personal meetings.
  • On a daily basis, Advisor Service Associates are expected to approach their given regional territories as entrepreneurs – seeking to cultivate existing relationships through positive interaction and looking to pursue prospective clients through cold calling and creative engagement
  • Work with Regional Directors to manage and grow territory.
  • Help Regional Directors to schedule meetings and cultivating trusting relationsips clients and prospects.
  • Assist in scheduling events, including booking Eventide speakers, venue, catering, and other event logistics
  • Help to share knowledge of values-based investing in order to educate clients and prospects regarding VBI – what is it, how it works, why it matter, why an FA should implement it and the effect it may have upon their practice.
  • Partner with Investment Consulting Group (ICG) to source advisors who are looking for help with their portfolios, fill out questionnaire with necessary details for analysis, and usher the advisor through the ICG process, resulting in hypothetical models for them to understand and implement values-based investing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or pursuit of degree) in Finance or related field
  • 1-5 years of financial industry and/or sales related experience.
  • Excellent ability to build trusting personal relationships.
  • Strong desire to serve and care for the needs of financial advisors and their client base.
  • Interest in the mutual fund and financial advice industry.
  • Excellent verbal, written, computer (Excel, Powerpoint, Gmail), and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter and self-motivated person who can work in a small firm/entrepreneurial environment.
  • Demonstrates the core values of Eventide in execution of duties.
