The Senior Manager of Fund Accounting and Reporting is responsible for timely and accurate execution of financial reporting, forecasting and analysis related to Eventide’s funds. As a member of the Finance team and reporting to the CFO, this role will partner with other members of the team on overall financial accounting and projects for the firm.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that internal and external accounting and reporting is in accordance with GAAP and SEC requirements, and that the company follows all regulatory reporting requirements
  • Ensure effectiveness and adequacy of policies, procedures, and controls for the company’s financial processes, creating new/improved mechanisms, policies, and procedures when necessary
  • Assist in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports for management
  • Perform financial analysis of various programs, initiatives, projects and prospective initiatives
  • Oversee research of technical accounting issues with respect to technical accounting matters and non-routine transactions; monitor, understand, and communicate pending FASB and IFRS proposals, their timing and potential effects
  • Establish financial forecasting tools to understand future profitability; evaluate impact of various scenarios and market conditions; plan and execute accordingly
  • Review and/or prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Review and approve partnership month-end close packages, ensuring accurate NAV, partner capital accounts, trial balance, and financial statements
  • Review daily NAV reconciliation on Mutual Funds
  • Review and reconcile public fund trial balances, monthly management fees and 12b-1 balances
  • Coordinate annual audit of the investment partnerships with the independent auditor and fund administrator, including review and approval of audited financial statements
  • Review partner allocation and waterfall calculation to ensure compliance
  • Creation of proformas and ROI analysis
  • Manage Investor reporting, feedback, and due diligence requests
  • Review financial forecasting and budget preparation process with department leaders, including active reviews to ensure accuracy and variance explanations
  • Partners with the Assistant Controller on the administration of payroll & benefits, expense reimbursements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, Advanced degree or CPA preferred
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience, experience with investment manager, with focus on, venture capital funds, private equity funds’ preferred
  • Team-oriented individual with strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a rapidly growing, fast-paced environment, and manage multiple competing priorities within deadlines
  • Demonstrates the core values of the firm in execution of all duties
  • Willingness to support Eventide’s prospectus statement screening criteria
  • Excellent MS Excel and Word skills are required
